Become a Writer
We’re always on the lookout for local foodies that want to write about their favorite (or least favorite) dining experiences. Whether you eat out every night or enjoy the occasional meal downtown, we want your opinion!
Requirements – All that we ask is that you have a passion for food. Articles don’t have a minimum length (our average is around 500 words). We do ask that you take a few photos or two so we can feature your article on our homepage. Every article should also have a “fact box” with information that basically gives readers a sense of what the restaurant is like. You’ll find these at the bottom of every article we publish, right above the comments section.
Oh, and one other thing. You get to pick the restaurant and whatever meal you’d like. Go during the early hours of morning or join your co-workers for some Happy Hour fun. We do ask that you don’t tell your waiter that you’re reviewing them, to eliminate the factor of them treating you special. In other words, just act like you’re a regular diner!
What you’ll get out of it – First, your story will be featured and published. Not only on grgrub.com, but also on our Facebook and Twitter feeds. Secondly, your photos will be added to our GR Grub Flickr group, with links to the article. Third, you’ll get a byline that will lead to your personal author page. Here you can add a short biography, contact information, and it will also list all the articles you’ve published on GR Grub.
Because this is strictly for the enjoyment of food, we can’t pay you for helping us out. But if you’re eating out anyways, why not write about and share your experience with the West Michigan community?
Does this sound like something you’d like to be a part of? E-mail us at foodies@grgrub.com, and we’ll contact you shortly.
